Description
A fine Ashanti comb with a shape of a spade and a carving of a bird on a Ashanti stool. Wooden combs were used by the Akan tribes from Ghana and other parts of West-Africa. The combs could be given as a gift and were also presented at marriages. A woman could own one or more combs depending on her wealth, status or beauty.
