Description

This nice doll is made by the Ewe people in Togo, these dolls are also called "venovi" or "venavi". They usually carve twin figures and are used for protection after the death of a twin. These twin figures were placed in a shrine and treated with much respect. In most cases the doll was cleaned and fed by the Ewe woman, and sometimes was even used as a child replacement doll.
