Description

This beautiful doll is made by the Ewe people in Togo, these dolls are also called "venovi" or "venavi". The tribe usually carve twin figures and are used for protection after the death of a twin. The twin figures were placed in a shrine and treated with much respect. In most cases the doll was cleaned and fed by the Ewe woman, and sometimes was even used as a child replacement doll.
